Welcome To The All New Wiltshire Shooting Centre Airgun Leagues!

By popular demand, we are proud to present the all new Wiltshire Shooting Centre Airgun Competition Leagues!

We are running a Spring, Summer and a Winter league in two different formats, 25yd LSR style and 50yd Benchrest Style with seperate classifications for PCP and Spring/Gasram.

25yd LSR Style

The 25yd LSR Style competition will be shot on our 25yd range using NSRA standard PL14-18 targets. Each season will consist of 6 rounds, with 1 target per round to be scored. Entrants will be split into divisions of 5 shooters (where possible), grouped together based on score following the first round, to ensure each individual is competing against others of a similar level.

The format of the competition will be 20 shots per target, to be shot within 20 minutes from the free standing, unsupported position. Each target will then be scored by us, and the winner of each division decided on aggregate score at the end of the season. Each card for each round must be shot by the specified date. If a submission date is missed, the card will be scored at 0. Entries are charged at £10 per person, multiple entries are allowed (max 2) but only the best scoring card for each round will be submitted towards your score for the season. Entries can be made in store or online HERE, payment is required at time of entry.

The winner of each division will win a medal and a £20 gift card to spend in store!

50yd Benchrest Style

The 50yd Benchrest Style competition will be shot on our 50yd range using NSRA standard 50M10BR17-18 targets. Each season will consist of 6 rounds, with 1 target per round to be scored. Entrants will be split into divisions of 5 shooters (where possible), grouped together based on score following the first round, to ensure each individual is competing against others of a similar level.

The format of the competition will be 10 shots per card with 1 shot per bull, to be shot within 20 minutes from the rested bench position.

Rules

The rules of both competitions will follow that of the NSRA regulations (Bipods will be allowed for Benchrest):

LSR Style Competition

  • All pellets must be made wholly of lead or similar soft material
  • Accepted calibre of 5.6mm (.22in) or less, of any profile
  • The overall weight of the rifle, including sights and all other accessories, shall not exceed 4.5kg.
  • When used with a magazine, the rifle shall not be loaded with more than 10 pellets even though the magazine may be of a larger capacity
  • The stock and cheekpiece may be adjustable
  • Slings are NOT permitted
  • The use of specialised shooting clothing is not permitted in lightweight sport rifle with the sole exception of strap-on elbow pads. A shooting glove or an ordinary glove may be used. Conventional street clothing must be worn.
  • The shooter must stand free with both feet on the firing point surface without any other support. The rifle must be held with both hands, the shoulder and the cheek. The rifle must not be supported by the jacket or chest beyond the area of the right shoulder and right chest. The left upper arm and elbow may be supported on the chest or on the hip. In the free rifle and sport rifle events a palm rest may be used. In this position, the use of a sling is prohibited for all rifles.

Benchrest Style Competition

  • All pellets must be made wholly of lead or similar soft material
  • Accepted calibre of 5.6mm (.22in) or less, of any profile
  • When used with a magazine, the rifle shall not be loaded with more than 1 pellet even though the magazine may be of a larger capacity
  • The shooter must be seated at a bench or table.
  • The rifle may be supported by one rest at the fore-end only. A shooter may use a sling, as in prone shooting, instead of but not in addition to a rest.
  • The rest may be of any type of material, may be adjustable for height and may only support the fore-end of the rifle. It may not be fixed to the bench or the fore-end, but must be free to move in relation to both. It must not control the rifle in any way. WE ARE ALLOWING BIPODS
  • The area of the rest that supports the fore-end of the rifle: must be flat in the horizontal plane at right angles to the rifle barrel where it contacts the rifle stock,  must be made of a non-pliable material, such as metal or wood, may have a thin, soft covering, such as cloth, carpet or leather, but the covering must be sufficiently thin that no support is given to either side of the fore-end.
  • A sandbag may be used to provide the height, but must have a piece of material interposed between it and the fore-end. The sandbag may not provide any sideways support to the fore-end.
  • Neither the rest nor the rifle shall be fitted with any form of stop device that impedes, or forms a buffer to, the front or rear movement of the rifle over the rest.
  • When in the firing position, the rifle butt must be located in the shoulder and the stock supported by the shooter's hands. The non-firing hand may rest on the bench and support, but not hold or grip, the rear end of the rifle. This includes the area between the bottom of the pistol grip or any part of the rear of the stock (including butt plate).
  • Additions to the base of the butt are allowed to increase the depth of the butt, but they must not be gripped by the supporting hand.
  • The rear end of the rifle may not rest on or touch the bench, or any pad or other artificial support on the bench, when in the firing position, but may do so between shots and  when re-loading. Although the shooters cheek may also be in contact with the stock no other part of the shooters body may be in contact with the rifle.
  • The use of strap-on elbow pads is permitted but not in addition to elbow padding which is affixed to the garment. The use of any special devices, means or garments which immobilise the shooter's legs, body or arms is prohibited. All shooting clothing must be made of flexible material, including all lining, padding and reinforcements. The shooting coat may have reinforcement patches of moderate size and thickness added only to the outside surfaces on the shoulder and on both sleeves. Reinforcements of such size and thickness as to form support for the shooter or rifle are prohibited. In no case must the elbow reinforcement be nearer to the end of the sleeve than 100 mm (4 in). Concealed padding is prohibited.
  • A glove may be used on the non-shooting hand
